Ring Pillows from My Beautiful Silk Wedding

Ring pillows are used to hold wedding rings during wedding ceremony.

Ring pillows come in many different types of fabric such as satin, organza and silk. Silk is a natural material and the material will have small lines and other 'imperfections' which are in fact not imperfections but normal for this fabric.

Ring pillows are carried by the page boy or chief bridesmaid up the aisle to the Best man who will then place the rings on the cushion ready for the minister to bless.
Wedding rings, continuous with no beginning and no end, symbolised eternal love to the Romans and Egyptians who used precious stones as well as silver and gold and were carried on a cushion. Hence the ring cushion (ring pillow) which carries the precious rings at the ceremony.
The size of the ring pillow can vary between designs although they are never very large and they are filled with super soft polyester fiber filling making them light weight to carry up the aisle and hold during the service.

Ring pillows are decorated with embroidery, ribbons, beads and jewels in many different designs and patterns.

Ring pillows can be made in the same fabric as the brides’ gown and matching embroidery or beading can also be added to ensure that the ring pillows completely compliments the theme of the day.

The ring pillows can then be used as a keep sake of the wedding day along with other mementoes such as the garter or bridal bouquet, especially as many of the ring bearer pillows are hand embroidered with a lot of detailing making them family heirlooms to be treasured for a long time.

Ring pillows differ from the ring bearer cushion in that the rings are placed on the pillow whereas they are tied onto the cushion using ribbons to prevent them falling off the cushion.
